What we did:

Brand Strategy, Consultancy, Web Design & Development

Obonjan is a new holiday concept with a festival twist from the creators of the Hideout and Unknown festivals.

Based on an until recently uninhabited Croatian island, Obonjan aims to bring together the best of music, art, wellbeing, food and drink in an idyllic Adriatic setting.

TAC were brought in to provide brand consultation, marketing support and web design and development in the lead up to Obonjan’s first season.

Defining the brand

Our challenge was to develop a clear, well-defined brand that effectively communicated Obonjan’s new and unique concept to its target audience.

We conducted a brand audit that looked at the essence of what Obonjan is and who it is for. Looking at the likely wants and needs of the potential audience we developed a strategy that sought to allay potential fears and anxieties they may have.

A unified brand and a consistent message across all mediums supported the launch of a marketing campaign during early 2016.

Creating an online presence

We designed an built a website that first marketed Obonjan to potential visitors and subsequently provided information to guests once they were on the island.

To help us explain the concept we spent a lot of time focussing on flow. There were a lot of messages to get across so we worked with user groups to establish the best way to deliver them.

We integrated Obonjan’s booking platform and also built a bespoke events calendar to allow residents to keep track of the many unique things to see and do on the island.

Supporting Obonjan’s launch

In the lead up to launch Obonjan gained a lot of attention from the mainstream media, with features on the BBC, The Guardian and The Telegraph, to name a few.

The island opened in early August and since then has seen the likes of Mr Scruff, Roy Ayers and Four Tet, amongst many more, perform to thousands of visitors during the summer season.

We continued to provide consultancy and marketing support during the whole season.

The future

After a successful first year we can’t wait for Obonjan to return in 2017 for what we’re sure will be an even bigger, better and longer summer season.

We’re looking forward to supporting the growth of Obonjan and we’ll be sure to return to the island again ourselves next year.
