Data Architects is an IT Consultancy, software and systems development provider based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

With high value clients across government, environmental and healthcare sectors, Data Architects work with organisations such as Defra, The Zoological Society of London and Edge Hill University.

We first met the Data Architects team in late 2015 and were asked to propose a rebrand that reflected the reputation of the business and would be able to support its continued evolution. The rebrand was to be carried through all aspects of the business, from identity to online presence to workspace.

The brief

The Data Architects team were keen that their new identity was bold and progressive. Helping them stand out in a competitive marketplace. It needed to reflect their position as a high-end provider of bespoke services.

The new identity was then to be carried throughout the entire business the ensure that they delivered a consistent, high-quality message to clients throughout ever stage of their relationship with them.

Having recently relocated to Hoults Yard, we were also asked to provide consultation on how they could align their new workspace with their identity.

What we did

Our first step was an in-depth period of consultation in which we gained an understanding of Data Architects’ business. We wanted to understand what makes them stand out and what makes the relationships they have with their clients successful.

With an understanding of the business we created a new identity that reflects what Data Architects do – provide the building blocks of their clients’ IT systems. This clean, clear and straight-forward new identity suggests confidence, professionalism and attention to detail.

A device comprised of a series of blocks provides the flexibility for the identity to be applied in different ways across multiple mediums.

Applying the brand

Using the new identity we created a suite of stationary that would be used in every aspect of Data Architects’ day to day business. This included both physical and digital elements for a variety of internal and external communications. Each piece of collateral carries its own unique identity through a series of stamps created from the marque.

We also designed and built a new content-managed website that uses the new identity to communicate Data Architects’ services and team.

The bespoke WordPress website we built provides flexibility that allows them to manage content and celebrate what they do exactly how they want to.
