TAC Podcast 004 – Moonboots.

Our fourth podcast is a special one. This time around we’re delighted to be able to share a mix from the legendary Moonboots. We have a feeling this one might be a bit popular.

The mix is titled ‘Quiet Nights’ was originally broadcast on The Wonderfulsound Libraries way back in 2009. This selection showcases the originality and breadth of Moonboots’ talent – full of unexpected twists and turns from across the musical spectrum. We are very proud to be able to bring you this out of circulation treasure from the vaults. A fine vintage, for sure. Not available anywhere else.

As usual the podcast is available to stream and download from our SoundCloud page.

Moonboots

Moonboots began DJ-ing back in 1988 following the acid house explosion in the UK. Working in Manchester’s Eastern Bloc Records led to many DJ-ing slots around the city at nights such as Luvdup, Most Excellent and Robodisco.

Alongside Jason Boardman, Moonboots started the legendary Aficionado night which ran every Sunday for ten years and featured guests such as Todd Terje, Greg Wilson, Phil Mison, Vinyl Exchange Mike, Sean P, Mudd and many of the UKs underground Balearic and disco DJs.

Since then, it has run as a quarterly event and is now into its 17th year. The night has also spawned the Aficionado Recordings vinyl only record label, which has firmly established itself over the last few years as one of the leading UK balearic and leftfield record labels.
