Introducing Something Concrete + Modern.

Something Concrete + Modern is the name of an initiative developed to celebrate the buildings that created a new architectural landscape in the North east of England in the post war years.

The post-war era in the North east was by far the most prosperous period of cultural change and growth embodied through a boom in new buildings in the region and the principal aim of the initiative will be to create a book, supplemented initially by a website and then exhibitions and symposia to illustrate the work.

We are proud to announce that we have been commissioned by the authors of SC+M and the Royal Institute of British Architects to create an identity to be used for future publications, along with a supporting website. The website will be an archive to illustrate examples of the wide diversity of work that was designed in that period.

Modern architecture, in particular the post war years, has been an important factor in shaping our design ethos. To be given the opportunity to be involved in this project is particularly exciting for us.
