TAC Podcast 005 :: Lee B.

Last year when we launched our podcast I specifically wrote that it was going to be a ‘regular’ thing. I don’t think any of us believed that at the time and it turns out that pessimism was completely warranted.

The first four podcasts are quickly heading towards 20,000 listens so here we are, almost exactly a year after the last episode, with a new one. By me.

There’s not too much to say about the mix other than it’s two and a bit hours of records I love, many of which get a lot of plays in the TAC studio.

Music from The B-52’s, Giorgio Moroder, Arthur Russell, Yellow Magic Orchestra and an Italian Jethro Tull cover.

TAC Podcast 004 – Moonboots.

Our fourth podcast is a special one. This time around we’re delighted to be able to share a mix from the legendary Moonboots. We have a feeling this one might be a bit popular.

The mix is titled ‘Quiet Nights’ was originally broadcast on The Wonderfulsound Libraries way back in 2009. This selection showcases the originality and breadth of Moonboots’ talent – full of unexpected twists and turns from across the musical spectrum. We are very proud to be able to bring you this out of circulation treasure from the vaults. A fine vintage, for sure. Not available anywhere else.

As usual the podcast is available to stream and download from our SoundCloud page.

TAC Podcast 003 – BAOL.

It’s a new month so it’s time for a new podcast. In an attempt to coax the summer into action, this month we’re welcoming The Balearic Assassins of Love.

We’ve been listening for a couple of weeks now in the studio and, as you’d expect if you’ve heard our first two podcasts, it’s another winner. Full of obscure b-sides, charity shop specials and Balearic big-hitters, it’s the ideal soundtrack for pretending it’s really warm outside.

TAC Podcast 002 – Balearic Social.

With well over 2,000 plays and counting, our first podcast caused quite a stir. For the slightly belated episode number two we’re delighted to welcome Balearic Social resident Andy Pye.

We’ve met and partied with Andy on more than a few occasions over the past couple of years and his fantastic mixes are in constant rotation in the TAC studio. The mix he has recorded for our podcast is, as expected, on point and is sure to be played to death over the coming weeks and months.

TAC Podcast 001 – Nick Seekmagic.

We had an idea a little while ago to invite people whose music inspires us and soundtracks our day to contribute to our blog. Our idea was to showcase some of the people doing really great things in the North East music scene and a podcast seemed the logical way to do it.

So, a little later than we first planned, here’s the first instalment in what (we hope) will become a regular series.
